The Orchestra of the Collegium Musicum is dedicated to the great symphonic repertoire and also performs in various chamber formations
The orchestra explores a repertoire that spans the Baroque music of the 1700s all the way to the 20th century and contemporary compositions, including world premiers.
Its activity provides diverse training opportunities and encounters with great soloists, while guest conductors renowned both in Italy and abroad are entrusted with the most important concerts.
Every year famous guest conductors are invited to direct one or more concerts. Filippo Maria Bressan, Paolo Grazia, Chiara Opalio, Zoltán Pésko, Roberto Polastri, Donato Renzetti, Carlo Tenan, Peter Shannon and more have collaborated with our orchestra.
Every year the orchestra participates in MusicAteneo concerts and is hosted by the series Musica Insieme in Ateneo.
The orchestra also undertakes special projects such as the world premier of Symphony no. 4 Alma Mater composed and conducted by Ezio Bosso in 2015.
