Do you play the piano or organ? Find out how to participate in the activities of the Collegium Musicum

Are you studying at the University of Bologna and spending your free time playing Chopin Nocturnes, Mozart Sonatas or Debussy Suites? Would you like to delight your friends but lack a big enough space and a good piano with which to do so? Then read on!

We are planning a chamber music series that will take place in the heart of the University (in Palazzo Poggi, Via Zamboni 33, Bologna) in the first semester of 2024: a series of lunchtime concerts featuring Alma Mater students. The repertoire is at the candidates' discretion, as long as it falls within the broad range of classical music: you can choose your favourite piece, the one you are best at or the one you have always wanted to play.

You have until Friday 1 December 2023 to apply, by filling in the form (see below). In addition to your personal information and certification of your status as a Unibo student, you will be asked to provide links to one or more videos of your piano performances; (the piece or pieces chosen for this presentation video can be the same as those of the proposed concert, or different pieces of your choice).

A committee will examine all applications and make a pre-selection if necessary. Candidates will then be contacted in order to set an audition date.

At the audition, candidates must bring the pieces they intend to perform at the concert; The programme should have a total duration of between 30 and 40 minutes. Once all candidates have been heard, the pianists deemed suitable to participate in the series will be chosen.

The aim of this project is to encourage young talents among the ranks of the students of the Alma Mater Studiorum; there are no fees or reimbursement of expenses for participation in the selection, audition or concert.
